Our History

Valk Manufacturing Company manufactures and designs all our products in-house using North American sourced steel in our New Kingstown, Pennsylvania plant.
Since our inception, we have grown to become one of North America’s premier manufacturers of snowplows and cutting edges with a trusted track record of supporting state departments of transportation, municipalities, heavy industry, and other end users in nearly every state of the union.

Small enough to give the highest level of personal service,
yet large enough to plow through any situation.

1952
// The Beginning

Valk Manufacturing Company was established in 1952 by Paul Valk in New Kingstown, PA. The original 4,000 square foot facility produced cutting edges for earth and snow moving equipment. Since inception, Valk has been privately owned.

1959
// Settling In

By 1959, the facility had grown from 4,000 to 40,000 square feet and large municipal-type snowplows were added to the product list.

1960s-1980s
// The Additions

Growth accelerated through the 1960's as the breadth of Valk's product line grew and its customer base expanded throughout North America and to many worldwide locations. From 1959 to 1966 several plant additions increased production facilities to 60,000 square feet. Growth since has been constant, more additions added 40,000 square feet and additional land was purchased for future expansion. .

2000s
// The Future

A dedicated and seasoned work force, along with four generations of family members, have established Valk as the premier manufacturer of Snowplows and Cutting Edges. Remaining privately held, Valk is small enough to deliver the highest level of communication and service to the customer, yet large enough to handle any size order required from OEMs, governmental units at the local, state, and federal levels, and a growing number of distributor and foreign outlets. Presently Valk operates a manufacturing facility of over 100,000 square feet. Future expansion plans currently on the drawing board will exceed the plants’ size to over 125,000 square feet once completed.

Valk Manufacturing Staying Out in Front

Valk has stayed on the forefront of technology with the purchase of state of the art production equipment. Automatic shear lines, multiple spindle gang drills, hydraulic multiple punches, induction hardening and heat treating lines, computer controlled tempering ovens, CNC drills, CNC plasma cutters, robotic welders, and automatic paint lines, among others, help Valk maintain the highest level of quality and production efficiency. Current and future projects will assure that Valk stays ahead of the competition with a dedicated work force and the latest equipment available.

Valk understands the importance of growth and expansion, not only internally but also externally. This is why Valk remains an active community member in local charities as well as various trade organizations.
